This red tortoise has lots of character!
Hand-shaped from red-orange clay, hand painted and burnished to a glossy shine, he was created by Mauricio Banuelos, the son of Roberto Banuelos, featured artist in the Many Faces of Mata Ortiz. The Red Tortoise is accompanied by a photo of the artist holding him in Mata Ortiz.
He measures 9" long, 5-1/2" wide and 3-1/2" high.
