Red Flame Obsidian Knife
This incredible obsidian blade showing black, transparent and red mahogany horizontal stripes was knapped by Tony Stanfield.
It is securely hafted to an antler handle with artificial sinew and epoxy by Lightfoot who also did the wonderful “peyote” style beadwork depicting black flames outlined in gold, leading to dark red and orange-red flames topped with gold edged feathers on an orange background. This fabulous knife is signed on the pommel by Lightfoot, who is part Apache, and finished with a brass bead and deerskin fringe.
The custom-made walnut display stand/storage box with oak cutout lined with soft red leather is included.
Blade alone is 3-1/4” x 1”
