About the Artist... Michael Kirk was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico of Isleta Pueblo and Navajo decent. Michael has been making jewelry since 1971 and attributes his unique jewelry-making skills and designs to his culture and surroundings. His specialties are one-of-a-kind and made-to-order pieces. Two of his sterling silver miniature pots are in the permanent collection of the Heard Museum in Phoenix, Arizona.
Michael Kirk's gold and silver work reflects the richness which surrounds him every day whether it be from his own religion and culture or the natural beauty of the Rio Grande Valley.
Michael has won first place honors at the Gallup Inter-tribal Indian Ceremonial as well as Best of Division at the Santa Fe Indian Market. In 1997, he was named Artist of the Year by the Indian Arts and Crafts Association.
