Paquime style figures are expertly hand painted on the creamy-smooth surface, the top opening is sculptured and cut with a large fish on one side and the profile of Indian Head Mountain (which lies above the village of Mata Ortiz) on the other. The pot is symmetrical with thin, uniform walls. An exquisitely definitive piece from Master Mata Ortiz Artist: Martin Cota, neatly finished with two small footprints above his signature on the base. This pot measures 16 3/4” high and 14 1/4” across, with a circumference of 46 1/2”.
