Leonel Lopez Sanez has created incredibly detailed carved scenes of springtime in the desert on this splendid hand-tooled pot.
The remarkable desert foliage is in flower and five delicate hummingbirds hover seeking their sweet nectar. The unusual color is achieved with a speckled combination of green, red and black, which when carved creates lovely highlights and shadows.
As with all Leonel’s best work, the more you look, the more you see.
