Miniature Sun Katsina
Hopi Katsina Artist: Elgean Joshevama, Jr. skillfully created this superb miniature katsina. Note all the fine detailed texturing in the feathers around the sunface, of the hair on the back of his head, in the fur over his shoulders and down his back and the intricate hand-painted designs on his belt sash. This marvelous miniature is carved from one piece of cottonwood root and measures only 3-1/4” tall including base.
